Astrologer Oscar Cainer lays out your weekly love horoscope for the week of Saturday November 20th, to Friday November 26th.

The phrase ‘it’s time to talk turkey’ used to mean a chance to be silly and fun. Nowadays, it suggests a frank discussion.

This Thanksgiving week, with Mercury (communication) linked with Jupiter (frivolity and philosophy) all of these interpretations are appropriate. No matter how serious the subject, there’s no need for a stern disposition. And with the Sun and Mercury entering Sagittarius, a naturally free way of expressing ourselves is emerging.

Spoiler alert! Whether it’s the plot twist in a new thriller, or the name of the latest celebrity to be kicked off a reality TV show, many of us are going about our days trying to avoid discovering facts that might ruin our enjoyment of something. So… should I attach a spoiler alert to this forecast? No! Because there are no dramatic cosmic interventions coming to shake-up your love life in a difficult way this week. Someone, however, is trying to tell you something you’re not quite ready to hear. Ask them, politely, to wait.

To use a sporting term, you’re something of an all-rounder. When the opposition’s mounting an attack, you tend to defend your position with resolute determination. And when you go on the offensive, sharp and effective tactics soon see you scoring points. In other words, you’re a pretty powerful proposition! Which is good to know, because you’ll need to give as good as you get this week. As long as you play fairly and in good spirit, you’ll emerge with an emotional outcome that will be very pleasing for both you and someone close.

Does telepathy exist? Scientists are sceptical. No one’s been able to prove, with absolute certainty, that one person can communicate with another using only the power of their mind. Yet we’ve all had those moments when we say: ‘I was just thinking the same thing as you!’ Being on the same wavelength as someone adds a special dynamic to a relationship. Don’t keep your thoughts to yourself this week. As your ruler, Mercury, moves into a new celestial home, if you share with those you love, you’ll find unexpected support.

Sometimes we’re happy for people to see precisely what we’re up to. At other times, we’d rather work unobserved. You’re keeping your current manoeuvres out of sight at the moment. It’s not that you’re doing anything wrong. Rather, you’re enjoying being the unseen puppet master. The trouble is that even though you have a perfectly good explanation, your motives could be misinterpreted. And someone’s feelings could get hurt. By emerging from the shadows and being open this week, you’ll achieve a more positive outcome.

‘Loneliness is a subjective feeling where the connections we need are greater than the connections we have. In the gap, we experience loneliness’. So said Vivek Murthy, who was born in Huddersfield and became US Surgeon General. You feel as if you’re struggling with a deficit of good connections. But you’re approaching a time of change and growth in your emotional life. As your ruler, the Sun, moves into adventurous Sagittarius, you’ll find new reserves of energy, which will lead to recognition, and uplifting developments.

We’re told that ‘it’s better to give than to receive’, but it seems some people have never received that memo. While there are many in your circle who recognise and admire your selfless endeavours, others simply rejoin the queue to your door, with a metaphorical begging bowl. This week, that line will grow longer and more vociferous, as people demand your time and attention. But as your ruler, Mercury, moves into a new sign, it’s time to take a step back. You deserve some attention yourself. And that’s just what’s in store.

If a fly on the wall documentary crew were on hand to capture your every waking moment, would it make for compelling television? The truth is that it’s unlikely. Most of our days are fairly routine; filled with inconsequential chats, minor irritations and small wins – certainly not the stuff of primetime TV. Yet, although we sometimes go about on autopilot, you need to stay alert this week. Mercury brings the promise of a conversation that has life-changing potential. As the star of your own show, you deserve some action. Here it comes.

When it comes to assembling flat-pack furniture, there are two types of people. Some rip open the box and immediately start screwing one piece to another. Others carefully check the contents to ensure every item’s present, then methodically follow the instructions. Neither way is wrong, as long as you’re happy with the end result! You want to solve an emotional problem quickly – but you’re missing some of the pieces. This week, listen carefully as someone opens their heart. You have what you need to fix the situation.

‘You snooze, you lose’. That was certainly the experience of the hare, who was deep in slumber when the tortoise plodded towards the winning line. So which are you – the tortoise or the hare? Neither! You don’t need to compete with anyone, or compare yourself either! And it’s this self-confidence that makes you so attractive right now. With both the Sun and Mercury moving into your sign this week, a well-deserved success is on the cards. You just have to trust yourself, assert yourself and do what you know is right.

Are you trapped in your own bubble? When computer algorithms see the stories we read, or whose opinions we agree with, they serve up more of the same. The idea is that we see more content that we’re interested in. The downside is that we only ever get to hear one side of the story. The same can happen with friendships; if we dismiss people because they have a different perspective, we can reduce the diversity of our relationships. As Mercury changes signs, take advantage of new connections in your personal life.

Someone close to you is being provocative. They’re poking you with a stick, pressing your buttons, rubbing you up the wrong way; doing all they can to prompt a reaction. And react you should – with all the patience, kindness and good cheer you can muster. Because, deep down, you know this person has a lot going on. Perhaps their actions are simply a desperate attempt to attract your attention. If you can banish your sense of irritation and devote some time to their needs this week, you’ll be repaid with nothing but positivity.

We’re at that time of the year when UK weather forecasters talk about ‘patches of dense, freezing fog’. Many people know the disorienting experience of travelling in clear conditions one moment, only to be enveloped in a thick, vision-obscuring mist the next. There’s someone in your life who has the same effect on your emotions. You have a happy, untroubled heart – then they say something that fills you with doubt. This week brings the perspective you need to find your way through the haze. A brighter road awaits.
